What's new in VeggieCrush v1.10

Good soil starts in the corner of the yard. There is the compost bay quietly doing the heavy lifting, and the worm farm you keep meaning to feed. They are two of the hardest workers in any patch, and until now VeggieCrush had very little to say about either of them. v1.10 fixes that.

Learn your compost bay and worm farm

Open your compost bay or worm farm in the Garden Planner and there is a new Learn tab waiting.

Each one gives you four things: a plain overview of what it actually does, honest advice on where to put it, how to care for it through the year, and a troubleshooting section for when it goes sideways. Compost gone slimy and smelly. A worm farm turned sour. It is the sort of thing a good neighbour would tell you over the fence, right there when you need it rather than three searches deep.

Care chores you switch on, and only if you want them

Reading about care is one thing. Remembering to do it is another.

So the care rows in your compost and worm farm panels are now tappable. Give one a tap and VeggieCrush schedules that job as a recurring chore, turning up in your Daily Check-in alongside everything else. Turn the compost. Feed the worms. Flick the switch off and it stops, no fuss, no leftovers cluttering your list.

Nothing gets created automatically. Not one chore appears unless you ask for it, because your task list should be something you built rather than something that happened to you. Scheduling element maintenance is a VeggieCrush Plus action, and switching a chore off is always free, whatever plan you are on.

Your Daily Check-in, in three clear zones

The check-in has been reorganised into three zones you can read at a glance: what is Done, what you have picked for today, and what is still to sort. Each has its own colour rail so your eye lands in the right place, and a Done tally tile shows how much you have knocked over.

Finished rows now simply read as done, rather than offering you a checkbox that never did anything. Less scrolling, less second-guessing, more of that quiet satisfaction of a short list getting shorter.

Groundwork for perennials that come and go

Perennials that die back and reshoot are trickier than an annual, and we have put the plumbing in place for them. A plant that goes dormant can now move through its journey properly and start a new season, instead of sitting on its last stage forever. Growth checks also let you say a plant is simply gone, not just whether it has grown.

The plant-by-plant dormancy content is still being written, so think of this as the foundation rather than the finished room.

Plus a bit of polish

• The invite share image no longer flashes into view when you pull to refresh on Home.
• Week in Review has moved out of the Home banner. It is still reachable from your Sunday check-in.
• The snoozed check-in card now sits in a tidy card of its own on Home.
